Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (B.E.A.M.) is a non-profit, ecumenical outreach agency dedicated to providing short-term assistance to beaches area residents since 1985. B.E.A.M.’s efforts are focused on helping families stay together in their homes and help them become self-sufficient.
B.E.A.M. provides financial assistance with rent, utilities and prescriptions. Other types of assistance include food, personal care items, clothing and local bus tickets.

B.E.A.M. has special annual projects for children and families in our beaches community. Back to School with B.E.A.M. takes place every August and is our largest and most comprehensive outreach effort (clothing, medical, haircuts, etc. Holiday Food Baskets for families at Thanksgiving. Holiday Party for beaches children in December – Christmas toys for families with children ages infant to 15 years.

Program Needs: B.E.A.M. is in continual need of funds for financial assistance and special programs. B.E.A.M. also has an ongoing need for food and personal care items (such as toilet paper, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and diapers). B.E.A.M. volunteers sort, shelve and pack food for about 800 clients each month. Volunteers help families apply for food stamps and Medicaid, meet with families to determine eligibility for financial assistance.
